My Two Front Teeth
By Dr. A Jeffrey Weisberg

When I was ten years old, I was wrestling with my older brother – as brothers often do. Unfortunately for me, he happened to be much bigger and stronger, so when I attempted to catch him off guard with a ninja-like move, I soon found myself on the ground, covered in blood. My two front teeth were gone.
It happened quickly, and my brother obviously didn’t intend to knock out my teeth (they never do), but the effects were long lasting. For the next ten years, I had numerous unpleasant and traumatic visits to the dentist dealing with the complications resulting from this incident. Dental technology has come a long way since 1959; to that, I can whole-heartedly attest.
Finally, eleven years later, a new dentist replaced my two front teeth with a fixed bridge; my smile (and I) was whole once again. It was a relatively painless experience, which made quite an impression on me.
This sequence of events helped motivate me to pursue a career in dentistry. I understand that some patients have had challenging dental experiences in the past, and I also know how those perceptions can be changed. I am that patient!
Dr. Clay Weisberg, my son, my dental partner, (and my dentist!) recently completed a reconstruction of this former injury. This time, I was so pleased with the results that I wanted to share my story and photos with you.
Thanks for reading. We hope to continue providing positive experiences for you and your smile!
